I'm a musician that loves a variety of genres. Some days Ill be switching from John Coltrane to Tame Impala in the same hour. I've also been a DJ at the university for a couple of years.
About Me
I'm a recent graduate in chemical engineering from the chicago">University of Illinois at Chicago with a minor in mathematics. I recently obtained my Engineer in Training license and am hoping to become a Profession Engineer in the next few years. My favorite subject during m time in school was Transport Phenomena, or the study of how heat and different fluids are able to travel.
Experience
Going through the engineering curriculum has many opportunities where you have to teach students. I've done informal teaching sessions with students in classes to teach them how to solve problems presented. I've taught students in previous subjects I've taken as well as teaching them while taking the same class. I've done a little bit of detroit">tutoring of students in my free time in calculus. I feel that now that I've finished, I should pass on the methods for other students to succeed.
Approach
I feel a hands on approach and patience is needed to detroit">tutor someone in math and science. To succeed in these classes, a student must be able to walk through the process knowing both the technical know how as well as the theoretical side of things to truly understand a problem. My teaching style involves guiding students through problems where they will be working the problems step by step. I will guide them on mistakes and any conceptual problems as well as how to understand concepts

I have used much of the basic music theory concepts in my musical playing in my jazz training as well as my own playing. I self taught myself in the subject using the college textbook by Kafka used widely in a college level. I have taught some of my musician friends these ideas who were still learning the subject.

I have also been teaching students the 1st year of calculus during my last school year so as to refresh my knowledge on some of the more obscure and less used ideas.

I've used statistics in both chemistry labs and engineering classes. My approach to statistics involves more real life examples to learning its use.
