Fun Facts

Language is so fun, and it’s the heart of culture and diversity! I enjoy teaching English as a second language, and I’ve had some experience tutoring in conversational English. At one time I knew a family from Jordan, and I helped them improve their English. They learned some new vocabulary and everyday expressions.

About Me

I took a diploma course at Uni-Prep online and finished with a top grade, and I received both a TESOL diploma and certificate. My earlier education was in science/montana/billings">computer science, and I graduated with an Associate’s. For teaching concepts, I learned the basic approaches for teaching ESL, as well as helpful tips, techniques, and methods used by English teachers. I also learned the essential elements of ESL teaching such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing, as well as vocabulary and grammar, lesson planning, and classroom management.

Experience

I have had a few tutoring opportunities so far. I tutored in ESL for U&I Hawaii for a few months, and these were students based in Korea or Japan. I also demonstrated my teaching style for a few students on italki, another teaching platform. Students on italki come from all over the world!
Here is my latest news: I am currently a part time online ESL teacher, working for Nomen Global. They have their own platform and the lessons are provided. This school focuses on the CLT approach.

Approach

I had always enjoyed school and believed in applying myself and succeeding. I enjoy working with all kinds of people, and I believe teaching should provide a comfortable and relaxed environment for students, because I always try to make learning English a fun experience, but with some challenge as well. Teaching should also be motivating and student-centered.
