Fun Facts
I have had many hobbies, ranging from bowling and billiards to board games and disc golf. I enjoy Racquetball, and being outdoors. I have a fondness for singing, and for ten years was involved in many capacities with a local community theater group in NJ which I helped found.
About Me
I am a former business owner from New Jersey. I have an undergraduate degree in Marketing. I relocated to Charlotte in fall of 2013 and I am a Marketing teacher with CMS. I am married and have three children, ages 10, 11, and 16.
Experience
I was a high school math charlotte">tutor when I was in my twenties, charlotte">tutoring students in areas from Algebra to Trigonometry. Since that time, I have tutored various math subjects and SAT prep. in 2014 I began preparing to become a teacher. I spent ten weeks in the fall of 2014 on a long-term substitute assignment teaching in a High School math classroom and I spent the rest of that year as a substitute in at the middle and high school levels. In August 2015 I began teaching Marketing at a CMS High School.
Approach
Math in particular is a subject which requires diligence and practice to master. As a charlotte">tutor, I attempt to dig deep to the source of the difficulty, which can usually be found in foundational elements of the subject. From there we will focus on building content knowledge in layers and improving study skills for improved recall in the future. When it comes to math, practice is very important for sound transfer.
