Fun Facts

Some of the things that people find interesting about me are that I have an identical twin sister who lives up in Massachusetts with my parents and two younger brothers, that I was a gymnast for 10 years, that I enjoy fishing, traveling, and am intrigued by all foreign languages -- modern or "dead". I am a proud member both of the National Society of Leadership and Success and of Eta Sigma Phi -- a National Honors Society in Classics.

About Me

I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Classics from The University of Massachusetts Amherst in May 2014. I then moved to New Jersey to be with my boyfriend whom I met in college. Since then, I furthered my study of Latin and Ancient Greek through a Post-baccalaureate program at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Experience

While I am primarily seeking to teach or elizabeth">tutor Latin and/or Ancient Greek, I am a learned student in general. I received very high scores on both the MCAS tests and SAT's, and recieved the Abigail Adams Scholarship for doing so. While I have no experience teaching as yet, I have studied Latin and Ancient Greek both intensively and in regularly-paced classroom settings. Having studied Spanish, French, and modern Greek as well, I am familiar with both new and traditional pedagogical methods.

Approach

I admit that as a student, I was always eager to learn and had no problem with self-discipline or motivation. However, my sister was quite the opposite. In high school, we realized that we wanted to go to college together and that she would have to significantly improve her grades if she was to be admitted to the same school as me. I began elizabeth">tutoring her and showing her my study methods. Not only did her grades improves, but she ended up as 51st in our class and we went to college together.
