Fun Facts
One thing people quickly learn about me is that I am very ambitious especially in regards to my education. In high school, I completed a dual-enrollment program with guilford-college">Guilford College so upon my graduation i had a substantial amount of college credits in addition to the diploma. Through lifes changes and obstacles, including two family deaths and the birth of my daughter, I persevered and graduated with honors this past spring at 20 years old. Needless to say, I am always up for a challenge!
About Me
I am an alumna from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelors Degree of Science in Psychology. I recently graduated with honors this past May 2015. I plan to apply to graduate school next spring. However, in the meantime I would like to get some additional experience working in environment with children/adolescents. My interests are in behavioral, academic and socio-emotional problems with youth and utilizing evidence-based practices to solve these issues in the community.
Experience
Throughout my high school and college experience, I participated in various service learning and volunteering activities. I spent a significant amount of time working with students in schools from grades preschool through 5th grade. I have had some experience as a volunteer teachers assistant for a Preschool and Elementary school. More recently, I volunteered as a crisis counselor at a youth crisis center where I assisted children in their daily activities which included salem">tutoring.
Approach
I grew up in a household of an educator. My mother has been teaching for over 10 years. I attribute a great deal of my self-motivation, patience and dedication to academic studies to her. The time I have spent working with a variety of children from different backgrounds has provided me with more perspective and a great deal of patience which would help me be successful as a salem">tutor.

I have been a volunteer teachers assistant for a Middle School. I helped the children by motivating them and assisting during their homework time after school.

I participated as a volunteer teacher assistant for a school in Greensboro that served foreign transfer students. They were of different ages and levels of reading and math comprehension but I worked specifically with those who needed additional help. The material varied with the teacher's instructions.
