I am a very creative person. A lot of people don't often connect creativity with math, but in my experience the ability to think of numbers and see different ways to use them are key in solving problems. I also like to express my creativity by making jewelry and scrapbooks.

About Me

I am a senior at CSU - Sacramento. I am majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Teacher Education. After I graduate with my Bachelor's Degree, I plan to go the Southern California College of Optometry to become an optometrist.

My sacramento">tutoring experience is fairly eclectic. I spent two years holding multiple weekly group sacramento">tutoring sessions for college level Elementary Statistics, as well as private sacramento">tutoring for the same class. I also tutored a high school senior as she prepared to take the Air Force entry exam. I have also tutored in Calculus 1 and applied my knowledge of calculus to sacramento">tutor a student who was struggling to understand her Business Calculus class. I recently began sacramento">tutoring two third graders and a fourth grader in math also.

When I was 12, I started seventh grade a month late (due to moving). I was beyond frustrated when I did not understand chapter 2 in my algebra/california/sacramento">pre algebra class. My mom had to sit me down and teach me the information from chapter 1 before I could learn chapter 2. I am a strong advocate of learning the basics before moving on, especially in math because of how much math builds on itself. In high school, I participated in a week-long math program that had the slogan "Inch by inch, math is a cinch. Yard by yard, it is very hard." I have since adopted the slogan as my personal motto for math because of how true I find it to be. I enjoy working with students, finding out where they are, and taking them inch by inch to where they need to be.
