One of my pastimes that allows me to rid stress from school is playing guitar and piano. I enjoy music composition and believe it is a way to express yourself without being judged by others. Along with this, I always work fitness into my daily routine and I enjoy kickboxing when time permits. I have one older brother, green is my favorite color, and I love dogs.

About Me

I am a senior at fresno">California State University Fresno, majoring in Biology. My GPA is a 3.43 and I will continue my education with a masters in chemistry followed by a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. With a Ph.D. in Ochem I plan on working on research and teaching or working for a medicinal chemistry company. It is at this point I would like to research and design drugs to cure diseases and other biological problems. I have about 2 years left for my undergraduate degree, but I may minor in business for future application.

Once I started attending college, I began helping peers in the subjects of Chemistry and Biology when asked. I have spent many hours teaching organic chemistry; helping prepare for tests, quizzes, or simply reviewing the chapter. I also have had lots of experience with my older brother and sister-in-law who are both learning disabled. I have helped them with math and english problems. My experience as a fresno">tutor in the past has been very rewarding by helping others succeed and advance in the given material.

Over my career as a student I have come to realize that everyone learns differently. Some learn better by writing, and others by visualization or reading. By pinpointing how an individual learns and reinforcing that with repetition, any student has an opportunity for success. I know studying and school work can be tough, but along with positive reinforcement and the practice of coursework, learning can be made fun and enjoyable. I also know how tough it can be to learn a difficult subject in a classroom environment, especially when you are shy to ask questions. By merely spending a few hours one on one with a student, unanswered questions can be addressed to avoid course confusion. I know how important the big picture is, but also know how essential the basics are in making that picture.
